and yet I still teeter
upon this edge so sharp,
by the tether that keeps me.
this thing that holds,
and yet it takes,
drawing me closer,
with my hollowed breath.
the music has faded beyond my memory,
and no hands remains to meet mine,
so to what occasion,
shall I dedicate this dance,
alone.
